I declare this Directory… open!

After three weeks of setup, tweaking, testing, tweeting and writing, we are thrilled to *officially* launch the Fashion & Style Directory!

Crucially, we have plenty of good stuff here for you to read already (as well as a growing roster of great stores listed in the Directory itself), and all the important functions of the site should work. Like any new site, however, it’s always a work in progress, so do drop us a line if you spot anything amiss, have an idea of something we can do better, or simply wish to say something nice 😉

As we proudly note on the site’s homepage, the aim of the Fashion & Style Directory is to inform, inspire and entertain, providing you with a great read and helping you find fabulous fashion items from the country’s best stores. We like to think our track record is good – though the Fashion & Style Directory is new, we’ve been doing similar things for years already with home interiors, gardening and holidays, all under our CannySites.com umbrella.

This site is the first one in our new format, though, with content, pictures and social sharing pushed to centrestage, and a snazzy new look (‘responsive’, in webspeak) that should impress whether you’re viewing the site on your tablet, your mobile, or even one of those old-fashioned desktop computer things. Once we’ve ironed out any teething problems (after all, there’s bound to be the odd glitch here and there), we’ll be moving all our existing sites over to the new format throughout the rest of 2014.

For the site to work, of course, we do need lots of lovely advertisers as well as lots of lovely readers. If you run your own fashion store, or you’re an agency working on behalf of one, why not list it in our Directory? A Standard Directory Listing is just £29 for the year (a snip, surely), and if you keep an eye on our tweets  you might even come across the odd discount code from time to time. As you’d expect, our advertising page includes lots more detail about how we can help you promote your store.
