Swimwear gets funky! Our favourite pieces for summer 2015
The idea of stripping off to a small layer of Lycra when you’ve spent the majority of the year covering up as much skin as possible can be a little hard to get your head round.
There’s all that de-fuzzing to consider, stretchmarks you might prefer to hide, and cellulite you’d probably rather not set eyes on. Stripping off to near-nakedness takes guts, but, thankfully, swimwear in 2015 is all about making you feel as confident, comfortable, and downright cool as possible.
With high-waisted bikini briefs, tummy control swimsuits, and skirted swimwear, you might enjoy it more than you thought possible!
House of Fraser
This Dickins & Jones swimsuit from House of Fraser has the vintage sweetheart look all wrapped up, and it’s great for extra support too.
The cups are full size so there’s no worry of freak waves exposing – ahem – too much. The rouched detail on the tummy helps to slim, and pretty frills at the bust add detail. It’s £27 in the sale and would look fab teamed with a sarong.
M&Co
Get body confident in this brilliant plus-size tropical print swimsuit dress from M&Co for £24.
We adore the bold leaf pattern on classic black, but it’s the fact this one-piece looks less like swimwear and more like a cute little holiday dress that’s won us over.
The skirt skims over your hips and thighs giving a streamlined silhouette. A great confidence booster.
Surfdome
For something a little bit off the radar, we’re loving this unusual swimsuit by Roxy.
It’s called the high line long sleeve swimsuit and costs £44.99 from Surfdome.
Cool colour blocking in neon, white, and cornflower blue, plus that edgy front zip, make this swimsuit great for style-conscious swimmers who still like a little coverage.
Debenhams
You know the old sayings like ‘red and green should never be seen’? Well scratch that!
These days, clashing is big news in the fashion world. Cue these peachy little Floozie by Frost French pink tropicana spot high-waisted bikini bottoms for £20; they’re every bit awesome.
Big and bold polka dots pitch up nicely next to hot jungle palms and Hawaiian flowers.
ASOS
And here’s the one you’ve all been waiting for! It’s the ASOS stripe lattice Brazilian bikini pant.
For £12, you get a bikini brief so skimpy you’d need weeks of ‘maintenance’ before slipping these on.
Are you brave enough? We’re not sure we’re quite ready for this attention-seeking pant just yet. And, in actual fact, we probably never will be.
