Look and feel fabulous this summer with Michelle’s Ibiza fashion, fitness and nutrition tips

I’m turning the big 30 in May, so I’m celebrating by going to Ibiza this summer as one final blow-out before my biological clock starts ticking and a family is on the cards!
I’ve been doing quite a lot of research on Ibiza as I’ve never been before. I didn’t have a clue what to wear as I know Ibiza is big on fashion, you have to have your A game on, and everyone seems to be in amazing shape – so this has spurred me on a mission to look great myself!
I’m going to be attending some of the big events whilst I’m there such as Zoo Project, David Guetta’s Opening Party F*ck Me I’m Famous (VIP Table), and the Ocean Beach Party. This is my motivation – especially Ocean Beach!
Working on my body
So the first thing I’ve been working on is my body! I’ve looked at all of these lovely clothes (and even purchased some items a size smaller to keep me focused). I’ve also joined a gym and I’m training six times a week, which includes four strength sessions (weights on a split routine) with 10 minutes cardio and two full cardio sessions.
Paul Webb, our ex-athlete and strength coach at Natural Nutrients (where I’m the Marketing Communications Manager), has written me the most intense but enjoyable programme to follow and even after just three weeks I’ve seen a huge difference.
I’m trying to target the typical problem areas in women – which is my bum, thighs and stomach, as the swimsuits I have in mind will not leave much to the imagination!
My split routines are based around 1) legs 2) chest and biceps 3) back and triceps and 4) shoulders and abs. My two cardio days involve running and a lot of functional training such as the prowler push, burpees and box jumps which I actually really enjoy the most – intense training sessions where I literally have to crawl out of the gym to my car because I’m unable to walk!
Working on my nutrition
The second thing I’ve been working on is my nutrition, where our nutrition consultant at Natural Nutrients, Jack Matthews, has given me some really useful tips and supplementation advice to follow.
I’m currently trying to reduce the amount of wheat/gluten and sugar I consume, whilst eating carbs only on training days and also taking appropriate supplements to aid my fat loss and training regime:
- Two level scoops of Madagascan Vanilla Grass-Fed Whey with almond milk on training days (one scoop on non-training days) in order to build lean muscle tissue, and enhance metabolic rate and recovery from the exercise I am completing! It’s also a really good and convenient way to keep protein levels adequate, as I do tend to struggle with time.
- Two Optomega 3 Fish Oil Capsules with each main meal every day, to reduce joint inflammation from exercise as well as improve cell health.
- Two Magnesium Capsules just before bedtime in order to help repair muscle tissue and improve sleep quality, which is also known to improve recovery.
- One level scoop of Natural Greens, which I use to keep the body alkaline and give me energy as well as a good source of complete nutrition. I find this supplement really convenient to use as I do struggle to find time to make a lot of meals from scratch!
My Ibiza fashion picks
The third thing I’m working on is my outfits for the full six days in Ibiza – but mainly focusing on the big events I’m going to – so here’s what I’ve selected for my Ibiza fashion wardrobe:
David Guetta – F*ck Me I’m Famous in Pacha (VIP Table)
Dress – I’ve selected a lovely slinky double-strap ruche bodycon dress from Missguided as I think this would be a perfect way to show off my tan! What’s even better is it’s currently on sale for only £15 – bargain!
Heels – I’ve selected a pair of glamourous gold patent two-part heeled sandals from ASOS – these are only £24.99 and are my favourite style of ‘barely there’ sandal. They are four inches high – so not too high – but these will make me feel more VIP!
Bag – I’ve selected the Skinnydip mermaid shell across body bag, also from ASOS, in metallic gold! I feel this is perfect for the summer and will give that glam feel towards my outfit. It’s a bargain at £30, plus I’ll be able to dance without worrying where my bag is as it has a long strap!
Arm Bangle – I have chosen a beautiful double-bar cuff for my arm from Topshop, to go alongside my dress – it’s not too big and bulky and is well priced at £14.
Zoo Project
Swimsuit – I’ve chosen a Tropical Print Plunge Swimsuit from Rare London (which is £35), as I want my outfit to be a little bit different to those wearing the typical animal print swimsuits! It’s daring but also elegant, and I’ll also feel comfortable that there isn’t too much on display!
Sandals – I’ve teamed the swimsuit up with some white jelly sandals from ASOS which are an absolute bargain at only £12! They are absolutely gorgeous and will go so well with my chosen swimsuit.
Bag – I’ve chosen a lovely cross body bag in white from ASOS (£18), which will be perfect for dancing also, as I’ll not need to worry about carrying my bag all day or night!
Ocean Beach Party
Swimsuit – I’ve chosen a black cut-out one-piece bathing suit from Rare London as I’ve found they have the nicest swimsuits this season and they are perfect for Ibiza! This black swimsuit is really trendy at the moment, as cut-out bikinis seem to be the in-thing this summer. It’s a little bit pricey at £38 but totally worth it!
Sandals – I’ve chosen some flat sandals from River Island to go with my swimsuit – they have a dressy feel but also won’t hurt my feet from partying all day. £35 very well spent – but now sold out, unfortunately. Sorry girls!
Kimono – I’m teaming up my outfit with a white kimono from PrettyLittleThing to cover up to and from the party, and it’s only £25! I’ll also be using my gold shell bag which I’ve purchased for Pacha.
…and to finish off all the outfits
One last essential item for Ibiza is the right sunglasses, as these will be used every day as well as for Zoo Project and the Ocean Beach Party!
I’ve found a beautiful and very well-priced pair of sunglasses at Girlfriend Apparel for just £12! These rose gold cat-eye sunglasses are totally glam and will definitely glam up every outfit I wear in Ibiza.
I’m really excited for this holiday as I’ve never been to Ibiza before! Fingers crossed I’ve got the right types of outfit and my training and supplementation pay off.
Have a fabulous summer everyone, thanks for reading my Ibiza fashion, exercise and nutrition tips, and don’t forget to post a comment below telling us how you’re preparing for your summer hols!
