Jenny from Etsy shop Qmuro talks jewellery, totes and clutches – and shares some exciting news with our readers
It’s only four months since we introduced you to Jenny Slanic from Qmuro – just before she gave away one of her gorgeous, handmade bags in our competition – but we know from following her Twitter and Facebook that she’s been keeping herself very busy in that time!
So, we thought we’d catch up with Jenny – who, as you’ll remember, is based in the beautiful Slovenian city of Maribor – and find out all her latest news. Oh, and a special surprise for Fashion & Style Directory readers…
Hello Jenny! We’ve noticed that you’ve been having a busy few months since we ran our last competition with you back in January. What have you been up to at Qmuro since then?
Hi, it’s been a fantastic time for me! I want to thank my family and friends for all their support, and my lovely customers, who are really giving me much more confidence that my bags are good quality – I am really happy if my customers are happy.
I’ve also had many requests from customers to make them a unique bag, and I am quite good at that as I do have some unique ideas!
I have also had some retailers asking to stock my bags in their shops – which is a ‘Wow!’ moment for me – to expand my market around the world. Of course that is a big step for me, and, well, I have to prepare everything good enough before I jump in.
I have a lot of designs still not released yet. Some are because of limitations in materials, which I can’t find to suit my need, but it all takes time – I do not want to rush things, or it could turn things bad.
Your jewellery is lovely! What inspired you to branch out from bags?
With the jewellery as well, there are still many things to add to my Etsy shop. I wanted to add jewellery to my shop because bags and accessories are things that go together as fashion. Girls can’t live without them, right?
Too right! You don’t need to convince us, Jenny!
Right now, the jewellery I have focuses on minimalist and chic looks. There are plans for me to design my own jewellery as well in the future, but that is also a big step, so one step a time for me.
As you know, we love tote bags (and recently wrote a whole blog about them), and were excited to see the one you gave away in your own competition via your social media! Will you be selling those in your shop soon?
Thank you, I love tote bags too! They’re the great option for carrying things during the day. You will see tote bags in my shop in the near future, but well, I have been thinking about changing the design a bit. That tote bag was just a tease for my customers – but they are coming soon!
You’re building quite a following here in the UK, but also in places like the USA and Australia. You must find it really exciting and fulfilling to be shipping your creations all over the world?
Oh, wow, that was an amazing feeling for me, that they like my designs, and order from faraway countries. I have many great customers from Australia, the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, UK, Germany – many countries around the world. I am so proud and happy to know that they are happy and wearing them with pride.
And the news that our readers will be most excited about… we’re thrilled that you’ve agreed to run another competition with us here at the Fashion & Style Directory later in May!
The hot pink clutch bag that you’re giving away (pictured above) is just gorgeous, and perfect for summer! Would you like to tell our readers a bit more about this lovely bag?
Well, thank you very much! This one is a more simple design for dailywear, because most women also need something simple and minimal for a casual look. However, I don’t think a bag should be too simple, and must be beautiful on the inside as well as out.
So, that’s why inside the bag I am using also quality, beautiful fabric to match the summer season – red roses, floral fabric, and finished with a tassel.
I would like to thank you for giving me the chance to show off my work here at the Fashion & Style Directory – it has been a fantastic feeling since the last time I did the giveaway here, and that’s why I am here again. And it will not be the last time, I promise that!
Thank you, Jenny! I’m sure our readers will be thrilled to hear that – and it’s our pleasure to help more people discover your unique and lovely shop.
The competition to win Jenny’s hot pink clutch bag will launch later this month, so keep your eyes open for all the details! In the meantime, you can visit Jenny’s Etsy shop at https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Qmuro.
