The new Winter collection at Joules: our favourite men’s and women’s pieces
From wellies to underwear, you know how much we love countrywear brand Joules (listed in our Directory here) – to the extent that we spent some considerable time cooing over lumberjack shirts and stroking lovely fabrics when we recently visited the Cheltenham branch.
So, needless to say, we couldn’t resist casting our eye over Joules’ new Winter collections for men and women – where, as you’d expect, there is much to admire.
Joules, however, set us the challenge of choosing our absolute favourite items from the men’s and women’s collections, so we’ve had to stop drooling and find our focus.
On the men’s side of things, we’ll resist talking too much about the famously cheeky Crown Joules underwear range, pausing only to point out the eyecatching new designs. No prizes for guessing what the enjoyable new ‘Horny Pants’ print looks like.
Only a lucky few are likely to ever see your Crown Joules, of course, so among the menswear that’s for more public consumption we particularly like the new jersey tweed-look blazer (pictured above). Lovingly crafted from cotton and with the usual impeccable detail that you’d expect from Joules, it’s a great solution if you love the quality and feel of tweed but aren’t so keen on the restricted movement that’s part and parcel of a heavy jacket.
Priced at £130, we particularly love the contemporary navy option, though the traditional brown alternative is perfect if you’re after a more classic look.
Women, meanwhile, are spoilt for choice with Joules’ practical yet stylish Winter collection, embracing everything from bold-print tunics to cosy pyjama sets and dressing gowns.
Out of the lot, we couldn’t resist highlighting the stunning women’s trenchcoat for £139 (pictured), available in either a vibrant dark red or a classic navy, with lovely button and epaulette details and a gorgeous flower-print lining. Specially treated to be showerproof and windproof, it has the advantage of not only being gorgeous but also eminently practical for whatever the British weather throws at us.
