‘Men In This Town’ showcases “the street styles of the modern man”

As you’d imagine, we adore the catwalk as much as the next person – we are into our fashion, after all.
Fashion flair and innovation isn’t just the preserve of big-name designers, though – it’s all around us. Whenever you walk along the street, real men and women are showcasing their own unique style choices.
It’s this eye for ‘street style’ that inspired art director and photographer Giuseppe Santamaria to create the blog Men In This Town, a journal “capturing men with a distinct look in their natural habitat”, photographing and celebrating “the everyday man whose dress sense speaks volumes about who they are as person.”
Now, Giuseppe has brought together some of his most striking images of the modern man into a beautiful, 272-page hardback book of the same name, capturing men’s street style in five of the world’s most fashionable cities: London, Tokyo, Milan, New York, and his adopted hometown of Sydney.
Alongside capturing the varied sartorial tastes present on these cities’ streets, Giuseppe chose a handful of men from each city who particularly caught his attention, photographing them in various attires and interviewing them on their individual approaches to fashion. What’s nice too is that the book isn’t all about achingly hip beardy guys (though there are some of those) – it’s full of fantastic photographs of real men of all shapes and sizes, young and old, who each in their own way is confident in their individual style.
So, whether you’re just interested in a unique snapshot of the current menswear scene, or are seeking a new source of men’s style inspiration, Men In This Town is definitely a title worth adding to your wish list.
Men In This Town is published by Hardie Grant Australia, and is available from bookstores including Amazon.co.uk. To see more of Giuseppe’s work, check out his blog or follow him on Twitter at @meninthistown and @gsantamaria.
