Summer wedding hair trends for 2015: The Hairdressers share their tips
You’ve chosen your outfit, topped up your tan and painted your nails – so what do you do when D-Day arrives and your hair is flat, frizzy or flyaway and threatens to spoil your look?
We’re faced with these hair dilemmas on a daily basis in our Newcastle-based salon, so thought we’d share a few tips, tricks and celebrity hair trends that we love for SS15.
Great for flat, lacklustre hair…
While we’re big fans of Frozen’s Elsa and her statement hairstyle, we’re all about adding interest to hair without veering into ten year old territory.
A cross between Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen and Kate Bosworth’s cool Coachella style, add interest to lacklustre hair by adding a romantic plait crown or exotic headdress-inspired style to your repertoire.
Short for time? Try this…
Don’t underestimate the simple understated glamour of a low ponytail – a favourite go-to style favoured by Victoria Beckham.
Accessorise with a simple hair band or attention-grabbing Art Deco clip if you feel your hair is too bare and watch your hair worries fade away as this no-nonsense style stays put during the day.
Work with your flyaway ends…
Perfect for banishing those annoying flyaway ends, the half up-half-down ‘do means you can enjoy the polished look of an updo and the pretty, flattering look of hair that is down at the same time.
Adding a sense of old Hollywood glamour to any outfit, we’re big fans of this effortlessly elegant style.
Raise the style stakes…
Start with a side ponytail, leaving a few strands loose either side of your head. You can either curl your ponytail and twist it into a loose bun or wrap it into a tight side bun and plait the loose ends.
Simply twist or clip the strands into your bun and accessorise with a clip or flower crown.
For hair that’s seriously misbehaving…
If your hair is struggling to stay sleek and straight then we suggest channeling your inner Sienna Miller by tying your hair into two high ponytails and curling the ends.
Gently pull the bobbles out of either side and shake out with your fingers. Leave your hair to cool completely before misting with hairspray and adding texture to your seriously cool curls.
Our top tip
Eliminate split ends and protect hair with a magibobble (that strange bracelet that looks like a telephone wire people seem to be wearing a lot).
Easy to clean, hygienic and a revolutionary way to style your hair no matter what your hair type, this clever, quirky hair bobble is designed to make putting your hair in a ponytail or bun quick and simple. Find them in our salon for just £2.95.
