Happy birthday! Links of London celebrates 25 years of elegance and sophistication
Links of London is such a well-known name in today’s world of jewellery, it’s hard to believe that the business only started in 1990 (its first product being a bespoke pair of fish-shaped cufflinks).
But it’s true – and now, in 2015, Links of London is proudly celebrating its 25th birthday.
The company has always been about creating exquisite men’s and women’s jewellery with a distinctly British twist, and though the products have evolved, those original values – embracing original design, superb craftsmanship, and only the best materials – endure a quarter of a century later.
For instance, the current Timeless collection, featuring pieces like this stunning Big Ben-inspired necklace, could hardly be more quintessentially Links of London.
Alongside Links of London’s well-known ranges of bracelets, charms, rings, necklaces and cufflinks, its watch collections for women and men – first launched in 2007 – have quickly become just as popular.
Whatever statement you’re looking to make, you’ll find something to appeal – we have our eye on this men’s stainless steel chronograph watch from the Brompton collection, with its chunky good looks, bold numerals, and comfortable leather strap.
As Links of London has grown, it’s also become increasingly easy to shop there however and whenever you want. You can buy online, of course, but sometimes when you’re investing in a beautiful piece of jewellery there’s just no substitute for seeing, feeling and admiring it face to face.
Happily, Links of London’s jewellery is now sold in shops all over the world – from Canary Wharf to Canada – with 38 standalone stores across the UK, plus numerous concessions in top department stores like House of Fraser and Selfridges.
Here in Newcastle, for example, you’ll find a Links of London concession in the flagship Fenwick department store, as well as a great range at the city’s only other official stockist: the sumptuous Richard Sinton Jewellers shop, tucked away in the Eldon Garden shopping centre.
You’ll know from our posts on Twitter and Facebook that we always like to champion independent businesses – especially those in the North East – and Richard Sinton Jewellers is definitely one of our city’s hidden gems, with beautifully presented pieces and impeccable service.
So, happy birthday Links of London – here’s to the 25 successful years just gone, and to many more sparkling years to come!
