Cuddly Christmas: the snuggliest clothes for the great winter hibernation
Brrrr! It’s not just Christmas that seems to come earlier and earlier – this year, autumn’s done a rather quick runner and left us with winter tap-tapping at our doors before we’d even considered sending it an invitation.
But not to worry, take it as your cue to prepare for the cuddliest time of the year – the great winter hibernation. So brew up a hot chocolate, stoke the fire, and settle back to discover our pick of the snuggliest clothes to curl up in this Christmas…
The onesie
With the curtains drawn, and the lights dimmed low, you can get away with wearing pretty much anything, but we can’t resist this Christmas Elf Onesie by ASOS. It’s £35 and even has added jingle bells on the faux red collar.
Plus, as any Gok Wan fan knows, a belt at the middle can really help define your curves – perfect when those mince pies make an appearance.
The slippers
Sticking to the elf theme, and one the whole family can get involved in, is this pair of insanely good Red Elf Felted Slippers by DressInFelt at Etsy.
They’re handmade to order so you can get them in any size you like, and the sole has a non-slip coating so you’ll hopefully stay upright no matter how many Christmas sherries you indulge in.
Adorable slippers that will surely raise a smile on even the grumpiest Christmas Grinch – from £39.64 (depending on size) plus postage.
The kids’ pyjamas
In our opinion, these fabulously festive Hatley Children’s Christmas Tree pyjamas should be made in adult sizes… but as with everything else in life, kids always get their own way.
Forest green, retro-style illustrations, and in soft and snuggly 100% cotton. Want! £22 from John Lewis.
The snuggle top
Banish the winter blues with this cute and cuddly Red Scotties Snuggle Top for £22 from BHS.
The funnel neck gives it a touch of chic while helping to keep chills at bay, and the navy ribbon with heart detail adds the perfect finishing touch.
The slipper socks
Muted khaki, cocoa-coloured cuffs, and cream – the only way these Reindeer Slipper Socks from White Stuff could get any classier would be if you found George Clooney sat on your sofa wearing them. (We can only dream).
£25, and profits go to charity.
The leggings
Another item we’d love to see in bigger sizes (though we’re not usually in the market for flashing our posteriors so the full benefit of these leggings would rarely be appreciated) are these adorable Rudolph Leggings.
Bold stripes, a big old reindeer on the bum, and cool Blade and Rose detail on the waistband. If anything’s going to get you through multiple night feeds and endless dirty nappies when it’s -1°C outside, it’ll be the smile these little beauties put on your face.
£11 by Blade and Rose from Not on the High Street.
The dressing gown
Last but not least, get all stylish for yourself and wrap up warm in this effortlessly cool dressing gown.
It’s unisex and comes in red too (so no fighting!). Black Bear on Natural Adult Fleece Robe, £45 by Hatley.
